Spring, summer, fall and winter — here is the place to find out about special activities, keyed to the season.


NEW BTA/BOLT THURSDAY Casual, Hike Schedule


Winter hours: 1 to 3 PM (Oct to May)
Summer hours: 9:30 to 11:30 AM (May to Oct)
Meet at noon at Wayne's for lunch; at 1:00 PM (as already stated) at Community Center. Meet behind the Boxford Community Center in Boxford Village for 1 1/2 –2 hours at casual pace for trial checking and maintenance. Bring clippers or loppers if you wish, small trash bag, snack, water and wear sturdy walking shoes. Signage equipment is supplied by BTA/BOLT. Destination is chosen on the day by the group according to trail needs.
Newcomers heartily welcomed. No registration. Heavy rain or snow cancels. Any questions call office at 978-887-7031.


BTA/BOLT 2010 Spring HIKE SCHEDULE-Tuesday Mornings

Meet at trailhead at 9:15 AM. Call a friend to carpool. Hikes last 1.5 to 2 hours. If snow is on the ground, bring cross country skis or snow shoes. Heavy rain or snow cancels. Bring water or snacks if desired and wear comfortable hiking shoes. Call BTA/BOLT office at 978- 887-7031 for questions. Call Steve if uncertain about directions. 6. Pyebrook. trail. Take Barehill Rd.across route 95, turn left on Old Barehill, and park on right at trail marker by driveway between 2 stone walls.

13. Skug River trail. Route 125 to Salem St. in Andover. Head south to parking lot on rt.-Bay Circuit T.

20. Hovey’s Pond trail. Park at intersection of Main St. and Silvermine Rd., W. Boxford.

27. Wunnegan, part 2. Parking lot on Crooked Pond Dr., which is off Moonpenny Dr, which is off Middleton Rd.

May

4. Weir Hill. Stevens St., N. Andover. Park at large TTOR sign.

11. Mass. Audubon. Perkins Row in Topsfield.

18. Shaven Crown trail. Park at arrow on west side of Highland Rd., which is off Ipswich Rd.

25. Maudsley State park. Route 95 north to 113. Go west, then 4th right on Gypsy/Hoyt Lane to end and parking lot.

June

1. High Ridge Rd. trail. Park in Alison’s driveway-#41, runs Herrick to Georgetown Rd..

8. Cleveland Farm. Meet at steel gate on Rowley Rd. which is off 97 just east of route 95.

15. N. Andover town forest. Park by soccer fields on Dale St.

22. Boxford State forest. South on Middleton Rd. to 2nd access on right, by white house.


Thursday Hikes

THURSDAY WALKS (Casual) 9:30 AM in Summer (May-Oct.) and 1 PM in Winter(Nov.-April). Meet behind the Boxford Community Center in Boxford Village for a 1 1/2 to 2 hour walk (or ski/snowshoe) at a casual pace. Includes local trail checking and light trail maintenance. Bring clippers or loppers if you wish, small trash bag, water, and sturdy walking shoes. Signage equipment is supplied by BTA/BOLT. Destination is chosen on the day by the group.
