NEW BTA/BOLT THURSDAY Morning Hikes for Volunteer

Trail Monitoring / Maintenance

Spring, Summer & Fall : March 1st to December 1st
Winter: NO scheduled hikes December 1st to March 1st
Meet: 9:30 A.M., Community Center parking lot (except holidays)
Hike is at a casual pace for trial checking and light trail maintenance.
Bring clippers or loppers if you wish, small trash bag, snack, and water; wear sturdy walking shoes. Signage equipment is supplied by BTA/BOLT. Destination is chosen on the day by the group according to trail needs. No registration, newcomers welcome. Rain, snow cancels.

BTA/BOLT 2012 Winter HIKE SCHEDULE-Tuesday Mornings

Meet at trailhead at 9:15 AM. Call a friend to carpool. Hikes last 1.5 to 2 hours. If snow is on the ground, bring cross country skis or snow shoes. Heavy rain or snow cancels. Bring water or snacks if desired and wear comfortable hiking shoes. Call BTA/BOLT office at 978- 887-7031 for questions. Call Steve if uncertain about directions.

3. Winding Oaks trail. Main St. to Towne Rd., left on Winding Oaks (#30).

10. Sharpners Pond trails. Rt. 114 N. Andover to Sharpners Pond Rd.-go to dead end OR Lawrence Rd. Boxford onto Brookview which becomes Lacey St. in N. Andover, left on Forest St. to end.

17. N. Andover town forest. Park at soccer field on Dale St.

24. Harold Parker State Forest. Route 125 into Andover, south on Salem St. to park headquarters.

31. Boxford State Forest. Middleton Rd. to parking area by steel gate.

Feb.

7. Den Rock. Route 114 to parking area across from shopping center just south of route 495.

14. Lockwood trail. Park by steel gate on Middleton Rd.

21. W. Boxford power lines. Main St. west to Silvermine Rd and park.

28. Harold Parker. Turn into forest on Harold Parker Rd by state police station and park at first decent sized lot.

March

6. Wildcat. Park in lot on Herrick Rd.

13. Anvil Farm. Main St in west Boxford to Silvermine Rd. and park.

20. Boxford State Forest. Middleton Rd. south to 2nd access on right, by white house.

27. Phillips Andover bird sanctuary. Route 28 , turn at Andover Inn and go to end.
