NEW BTA/BOLT THURSDAY Morning Hikes for Volunteer

Trail Monitoring / Maintenance

Spring, Summer & Fall : March 1st to December 1st
Winter: NO scheduled hikes December 1st to March 1st
Meet: 9:30 A.M., Community Center parking lot (except holidays)
Hike is at a casual pace for trial checking and light trail maintenance.
Bring clippers or loppers if you wish, small trash bag, snack, and water; wear sturdy walking shoes. Signage equipment is supplied by BTA/BOLT. Destination is chosen on the day by the group according to trail needs. No registration, newcomers welcome. Rain, snow cancels.

BTA/BOLT 2010 FALL HIKE SCHEDULE- Tuesday Mornings

Meet at trailhead at 9:15 AM. Call a friend to carpool. Hikes last 1.5 to 2 hours. If snow is on the ground, bring cross country skis or snow shoes. Heavy rain or snow cancels. Bring water or snacks if desired and wear comfortable hiking shoes. Call BTA/BOLT office at 978- 887-7031 for questions. Call Steve if uncertain about directions.

7. Wunnegan, to Peabody St. Parking lot on Crooked Pond Dr., which is off Moonpenny Dr. which is off Middleton. Rd.

14. Sharpner’s Pond part 1. Route 114 N. Andover to Sharpners Pond Rd-go to dead end. OR Lawrence Rd. (Boxford) onto Brookview which becomes Lacy St. in N. Andover, left on Forest St. to end.

21. Newburyport and Salisbury rail trail. Meet at junction of route 1 bridge and Merrimack St. in Newburyport. Park on St.

12. Plum Island. Take causeway, then right into sanctuary, go to end of paved road, park (hellgate trail).

19. Mazurenko Conservation Area. Route 133 to Bradford St.in N. Andover across from Brooks School . On Bradford look for first parking area on left.

26. Lufkin Brook trail. Route 133 heading toward Georgetown., left on Pine Plain Rd., cross Boxford Georgetown line and park about 50 yards up on right, after fire hydrant.

9. Winding Oaks trail. Take Main St. to Towne Rd. to Winding Oaks Way (#30).

23. Village Estates trail. Main St. east Boxford onto Hickery Rd. Look for trail marker arrow.

30. Ward Reservation. Route 125 in Andover, turn south onto Prospect St. to dead end.

December

7. Goldsmith Reservation. In Andover park on southbound side of route 28 in lot just north of 125 intersection.

14. Bradley Palmer state park. Route 97 into Topsfield, left onto Ipswich Rd., crossing route 1, passing Perkins Row, then next right at sign and quick left into park. Take second left hand drive to Willowdale Estates parking lot.

21. Coolidge trail. Topsfield Rd. in east Boxford, right on Dana Rd. park at other end by Boy Scout Park.
