“On September 20, youth around the world are organizing Global Climate Strikes to demand the bold action we need. It’s up to all of us to show up big.
RSVP for a Climate Strike near you.
You know it. I know it. Everyone knows it. The climate crisis is here and it's urgent. Now, students and youth are taking things into their own hands -- and are looking for everyone, regardless of age, to get involved.
As fires, droughts, hurricanes, and floods become more and more common, I'm left with the sickening realization that this is just a preview of what's to come. I'm scared, but I know it doesn't have to be this way.
That's why the Sierra Club has endorsed this fully youth-led mobilization. Young people from all over the world are collaborating in dozens of countries and hundreds of cities. It's shaping up to become the biggest international day of climate action IN HISTORY.
This is right before the UN Climate Week in NYC -- but the strikes are happening everywhere. Find out where the closest strike is to you.
It's time for bold, ambitious action at the scale that science and justice demand. We need a Green New Deal. We need youth, communities of color, workers, and all those who are most impacted to be at the forefront of these conversations.
We have to grow our movement big enough to leave our elected officials no choice but to listen to us (instead of the political donations they get from big oil and gas corporations…) and to do what's necessary to protect our climate.
Together, we can do this. Will you join in on September 20?
Thanks for everything you do,
Sierra Student Coalition
